Regular Season Round 1: Instituto - Independ.O. 78-72

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Independ.O. in Cordoba on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by Instituto 78-72. Instituto well out of reach of Independ.O. shooting 100.0 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 100.0 percentage. Guard Nicolas Copello (193-1992) stepped up and scored 13 points for the winners and the former international guard Luciano Gonzalez (194-1990) chipped in 13 points. Five Instituto players scored in double figures. At the losing side power forward Fernando Martina (201-1981) responded with 24 points (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!) and Matias Aristu (194-1995) scored 12 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Instituto's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Cordoba Atenas.
