Regular Season Round 2: Moca - Morovis 79-89

No shocking result in a game when Montaneras beat on the road Moca 89-79 on Tuesday. They outrebounded Moca 43-31 including 29 on the defensive glass. Montaneras looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American guard Mikayla Pivec (178-1997, college: Oregon St.) notched a double-double by scoring 24 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals to lead the effort and the former international point guard Pamela Rosado (165-1986) supported her with 9 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists. Four Montaneras players scored in double figures. Even 26 points and 5 assists by the former international point guard Jennifer O'Neill (165-1990, college: Kentucky, agency: LBM Management) did not help to save the game for Moca. American forward Asia Taylor (188-1991, college: Louisville) added 13 points and 9 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Montaneras will meet Cangrejeras in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Moca will play against Gigantes and hope to win that game.
