The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Aguila (13-2) in San Miguel on Monday night. Hosts were edged by fifth ranked San Salvador (10-3) 98-95. It ended at the same time the 11-game winning streak of Aguila. They outrebounded Aguila 45-31 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for Dominican forward Adonis Lopez (-1997) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 26 rebounds. Dominican Jonatan Bello (-2001) contributed with 34 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Panamanian forward Pablo Rivas (198-1994, college: NCCU) replied with 39 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and American forward Brenden Van Dyke (203-1998, college: Emporia St.) added 13 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks in the effort for Aguila. Four Aguila players scored in double figures. San Salvador moved-up to third place, which they share with Metapan. Aguila at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. San Salvador is looking forward to face Santa Tecla (#5) at home in the next round. Aguila will play against Metapan (#4) and is hoping to win this game.
