The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Quezaltepeque as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Quezaltepeque defeated their close opponent Aguila at home 100-86. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Quezaltepeque outrebounded Aguila 48-36 including 16 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Quezaltepeque made 8 blocks. Cuban forward Yoel Cubillas (204-1994) fired a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!), 24 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. Alberto Liriano (-1998) chipped in 33 points (!!!). Aguila at the other side keeps the second place with three games lost. Aguila will play next round against Chalchuapa trying to get back on the winning streak. Quezaltepeque will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked Brujos in Izalco.
