Rather predictable result in Barinas where top-ranked Taurinas (12-0) smashed 4th ranked Patriotas (1-11) 118-65 on Wednesday. Taurinas shot 31 for 46 from the free-throw line, while Patriotas only scored seven points from the stripe. Taurinas forced 29 Patriotas turnovers and outrebounded them 58-33 including a 46-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Patriotas' players. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Endrina Bolivar (-1990) who had a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds. Yolimar Gonzalez (-1998) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Taurinas players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Yara Angarita (-1988) who recorded 22 points and 8 rebounds and Milcar Medina (-2004) added 14 points and 4 steals respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Taurinas have an impressive 12-game winning streak. Newly promoted Taurinas maintains first position with 12-0 record. Patriotas lost seventh consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth place with 11 games lost. Taurinas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Patriotas will play against Mineras (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
