Very expected game when bottom-ranked Chalchuapa (0-20) lost at home to fourth ranked San Salvador (15-5) 89-71 on Sunday. San Salvador looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Dominican Bernardo Polanco (189-1994) notched a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and Eduardo Escalante (181-1993) supported him with 13 points and 7 assists. San Salvador's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even a double-double of 19 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals by Jamaican-American forward Devin Thompson (199-1980, college: St.Peter's) did not help to save the game for Chalchuapa. Eleazar Herrera (195-1995) added 17 points and 9 rebounds for the hosts. San Salvador have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 15-5 record, which they share with Metapan. Chalchuapa at the other side still closes the standings.
