Regular Season Round 10: Moca - Morovis 80-69

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Moca (7-5) defeated at home 6th ranked Montaneras (4-5) 80-69 on Saturday. Moca dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Montaneras' 10. They outrebounded Montaneras 59-39 including a 40-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. Moca looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American forward Alexis Jennings (190-1996, college: S.Carolina) had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 17 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Roxy Barahman (173-1998, college: Yale) chipped in 12 points, 13 rebounds and 9 assists during the contest. Moca's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Madelyne Vealzquez responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and Keiry Huertas (-1994) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Five Montaneras players scored in double figures. Moca maintains second position with 7-5 record behind leader Manati. Loser Montaneras dropped to the fourth place with five games lost. Moca will meet at home league's leader Atenienses in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Montaneras will play against Gigantes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
