Regular Season Round 14: Danzantes - Caribenas 56-88

Rather predictable result when third ranked Caribenas (11-6) rolled over on the road bottom-ranked Danzantes (0-15) 88-56 on Saturday. Caribenas dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Danzantes' 32. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Danzantes' players. The former international swingman Genesis Rivera (180-1996, college: UMass) notched 10 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and point guard Jormelys Urbina (170-1996) supported her with 17 points and 4 steals. Even 16 points and 8 rebounds by the former international Yanetsy Zamaro (178-1998) did not help to save the game for Danzantes. Valentina Corrales added 6 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists for the hosts. Four Danzantes players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Caribenas have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 11-6 record behind leader Taurinas. Newly promoted Danzantes still closes the standings with 15 games lost.
