The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Aguila as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Aguila defeated 6th ranked Cojute in San Miguel 97-91. They outrebounded Cojute 51-37 including a 24-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. Aguila looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American forward Brenden Van Dyke (203-1998, college: Emporia St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 14 rebounds. The other American import point guard Marquise Mosley (175-1997, college: Biola, CA) contributed with 24 points and 9 assists for the winners. American swingman Andravious Smith (196-1995, college: Tougaloo) replied with a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!), 18 rebounds and 4 assists and Lee Vasquez (176-1991) added 34 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) in the effort for Cojute. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Quezaltepeque and Santa Tecla. Cojute lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with ten games lost.
