Very important is a road loss of third ranked Cangrejeras (5-6) against sixth ranked Lares (4-7) on Thursday night. Visiting Cangrejeras were defeated by Lares in a tough game in Lares 71-80. Lares had a 30-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Juicy Landrum (173, college: Baylor) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. The other American import center Akela Maize (196-1996, college: NC State) contributed with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 17 rebounds for the winners. Four Lares players scored in double figures. American power forward Rebecca Tobin (195-1988, college: Arizona St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and the former international guard Brianna Jones (177-1997, college: Georgetown) added 17 points in the effort for Cangrejeras. Newly promoted Lares maintains sixth position with 4-7 record. Cangrejeras lost third consecutive game. They keep the third place with six games lost. Lares will again play against higher ranked Cangrejeras (#3) in Santurce in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Cangrejeras will play at home against the league's second-placed Moca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
