Regular Season Round 11: Moca - Lares 88-82
Date: November 11, 2022
No shocking result in a game when second ranked Moca (8-5) beat at home 6th ranked Lares (5-8) 88-82 on Friday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Strangely Lares outrebounded Moca 42-28 including 27 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for the former international point guard Jennifer ONeill (165-1990, college: Kentucky, agency: LBM Management) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 assists. American forward Asia Taylor (188-1991, college: Louisville) accounted for 23 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winning side. American guard Juicy Landrum (173, college: Baylor) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists and the other American import forward Danielle McCray (185-1993, college: Ole Miss) added 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Lares in the defeat. Four Moca and five Lares players scored in double figures. Moca have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 8-5 record having just two point less than leader Manati. Newly promoted Lares dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. Moca will again meet Lares (#5) on the road in the next round. Lares will play against Cangrejeras in Santurce and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
