The game between closely ranked teams ended with one of their biggest challengers LA U's (7-6) road loss to second ranked Cobras (6-7) 50-73 on Wednesday. Cobras outrebounded LA U 53-38 including 18 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Colombian Laura Garrido (172) notched 26 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the effort and center Natasha Villar (178) supported her with 13 points and 14 rebounds. Cobras' coach felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Even a double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds by swingman Diobelis Batista (167-2005) did not help to save the game for LA U. Venezuelan forward Veronica Guedez (170-2001) added 12 points and 5 rebounds. Despite that victory Cobras went down to third position due to points difference, which they share with Amazonas. Loser LA U dropped to the second place with six games lost.
