Everything went according to plan in Paraiba where sixth ranked Corinthians (6-3) won against 9th ranked UNIFACISA (4-5) 92-76. They outrebounded UNIFACISA 32-21 including a 26-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Corinthians shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 53.6 percentage. American guard Davaunta Thomas (196-1995, college: UAFS) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points and 4 assists. Point guard Gabriel Campos (182-2001) contributed with 18 points and 5 assists for the winners. Thomas is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Corinthians players scored in double figures. The former international Antonio Ferreira (200-1994) replied with 24 points and Panamanian-American point guard Trevor Gaskins (188-1989, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: Pro Sports) added 16 points in the effort for UNIFACISA. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Corinthians have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Minas. UNIFACISA at the other side dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. They share it with Paulistano. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
