Regular Season Round 12: Quimsa - Instituto 92-82

The biggest surprise took place in Santiado del Estero where host Quimsa (9-5) beat league's leader Instituto (12-4) 92-82 on Sunday evening. Quimsa made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game. 27 personal fouls committed by Instituto helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American power forward Eric Anderson (204-1993, college: New Haven) who scored 20 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Forward Rodrigo Sanchez (200-1989) chipped in 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Quimsa players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international guard Nicolas Romano (200) who recorded 15 points and 7 rebounds and the former international guard Luciano Gonzalez (194-1990) added 18 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Quimsa maintains fifth position with 9-5 record. Defending champion Instituto dropped to the second place with four games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Obras. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
