Very expected game in Santiago del Estero where 8th ranked Atenas (6-5) was defeated by fourth ranked Quimsa (9-5) 72-65 on Monday. Quimsa made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for swingman Diego Collomb (192-2004) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points and 6 rebounds. Estefano Zarco (-2004) helped adding 12 points and 6 rebounds. Quimsa's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was guard Matias Stanic (185-2005) with 24 points and Ecuadorian guard Erick Mecias (184-2003) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Quimsa moved-up to second place, which they share with Gimnasia. Loser Atenas keeps the eighth position with five games lost. Quimsa will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Atenas will play against Olimpico (#16) in La Banda and hope to secure a win.
