Quite upsetting was Uruguayan Bigua's 18-point home defeat in a game versus Brazilian Minas who crushed hosts They outrebounded Bigua 41-30 including 31 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Shaquille Johnson (191-1990, college: Marshall) who scored 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Alexey Borges (185-1995) chipped in 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. American Victor Rudd (206-1991, college: S.Florida) produced 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and Brazilian center Luis Santos (194-1994) added 21 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Five Minas and four Bigua players scored in double figures. Minas will meet at home Quimsa in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Bigua will play against Quimsa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
