The most exciting game of round 18 in the LDD took place in Olivia. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 5th ranked Independ.O. (8-3) to third ranked Obera (10-2) 80-78 on Thursday evening. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Independ.O.. They outrebounded Independ.O. 39-23 including 18 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was Nicolas Quiroga (191-2003) who scored 19 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Power forward Kelvin Ramirez (204-2003) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Nicolas Marcucci (190-2002) who recorded 21 points and 5 steals and Panamanian Amilcar Sanchez (192) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Obera maintains third position with 10-2 record having 3 victories less than leader Instituto. Independ.O. at the other side keeps the fifth place with three games lost. Obera are looking forward to face Ferro (#12) in Buenos Aires in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Independ.O. will play at home against Argentino (#14) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
