Regular Season Round 12: Brasilia - Sao Paulo 89-96

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Brasilia (4-8) lost at home to third ranked Sao Paulo (10-2) 96-89. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Tyrone Curnell (203-1988, college: Valdosta St.) who helped to win the game recording 32 points and 8 rebounds and the former international point guard Elinho Corazza (191-1989, college: Miami Dade CC) who added 19 points, 10 assists and 6 steals during the contest. The best for the losing side was Victor Leal (203-1996) with 25 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) and guard Gemadinha Sacco (183-1997) scored 18 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Four Brasilia players scored in double figures. Sao Paulo have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 10-2 record having just two points less than leader Sesi Franca. Brasilia at the other side keeps the twelfth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Pato Basquete. Sao Paulo will play against league's second-placed Flamengo in Rio de Janeiro in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Brasilia will play on the road against Rio Claro (#15) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
