Very predictable result in Brasilia where ninth ranked UNIFACISA (9-9) defeated 15th ranked Cerrado (4-15) 83-73. UNIFACISA dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Cerrado's 26. UNIFACISA forced 21 Cerrado turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for the former international Antonio Ferreira (200-1994) who led the winners and scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Caue Freitas (192-1988) accounted for 15 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winning side. UNIFACISA's coach Cesar Guidetti allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Anthony Harris (196, college: Chicago St.) came up with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists and power forward Ruan Miranda (205-2001) added 21 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Cerrado in the defeat. UNIFACISA maintains ninth place with 9-9 record. Cerrado at the other side keeps the fifteenth position with 15 games lost. UNIFACISA will play against Sao Jose (#10) at home in the next round. Cerrado will play against Paschoalotto/Bauru (#8) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
