Not a big story in a game in Pato Branco where 14th ranked Pato (5-14) was defeated by third ranked Sao Paulo (14-5) 84-69. It was an exceptional evening for the former international forward Marquinhos Vieira (207-1984) who led the winners and scored 17 points and 6 assists. American guard Malcolm Miller (201-1991, college: Southern) accounted for 15 points for the winning side. Four Sao Paulo players scored in double figures. Colombian guard Romario Roque (180-1998) came up with 17 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and center Gabriel Novaes (208-2001) added 16 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Pato in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sao Paulo maintains third place with 14-5 record having three points less than leader Sesi Franca. Pato lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Fortaleza. Sao Paulo's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Sao Paulo to the arena Corinthians.
