Argentinian Quimsa (3-1) recorded its first loss in Santiado del Estero on Wednesday night. Hosts were rolled over by third ranked Uruguayan Bigua (1-3) 102-83. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Quimsa. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Bigua made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was American Victor Rudd (206-1991, college: S.Florida) who had a double-double by scoring 30 points and 10 rebounds. Brazilian center Luis Santos (194-1994) chipped in 20 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was forward Fabian Ramirez (200-1990) who recorded 26 points and 5 rebounds and American power forward Eric Anderson (204-1993, college: New Haven) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. It was the only win of guest team this round and in all other games host teams recorded victories. Defending Uruguayan champion left bottom position moving up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Quimsa at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Bigua is looking forward to face league's second-placed Minas in Belo Horizonte in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Quimsa will play again at home against Bigua and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
