Important game to mention about took place in Buenos Aires. Fourteenth ranked Ferro (10-14) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging much higher ranked Obras (16-6) 87-86 on Monday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. Obras was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Swingman Valentin Bettiga (189-1999) nailed 24 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Tomas Spano (183-1998) accounted for 14 points. Four Ferro players scored in double figures. Nigerian forward Jeffrey Solarin (193-1992, college: Idaho St.) came up with 18 points and 8 rebounds and Uruguayan forward Joaquin Rodriguez (198-1999, agency: Pro Sports) added 20 points and 4 assists respectively for Obras in the defeat. Obras' coach Gregorio Martinez rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Ferro moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with La Union. Obras at the other side dropped to the third position with six games lost. Ferro's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Buenos Aires to the arena Boca.
