Regular Season Round 27: Gimnasia - San Martin 71-62

Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Gimnasia (17-6) defeated 9th ranked San Martin (12-8) in Comodoro Rivadavia 71-62 on Tuesday. It was an exceptional evening for Cuban forward Joaquin Mensia (198-1997, agency: Pro Sports) who led the winners and scored 22 points and 8 rebounds. American guard Tyrone White (201-1990, college: CSUB) accounted for 15 points for the winning side. Four Gimnasia players scored in double figures. Swingman Emiliano Basabe (195-1992) came up with 15 points and 6 rebounds and the former international Matias Solanas (192-1998) added 7 points and 5 rebounds respectively for San Martin in the defeat. Gimnasia moved-up to second place, which they share with Obera. Loser San Martin keeps the ninth position with eight games lost. Gimnasia will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. San Martin will play against Obras (#4) in Buenos Aires and hope to secure a win.
