Sixteenth-ranked Argentino (9-19) gave a tough game to third ranked Obras (18-6) in Buenos Aires. Obras managed to secure only one-point victory 83-82. However their fans expected much easier game. Obras outrebounded Argentino 47-31 including a 38-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for Uruguayan forward Joaquin Rodriguez (198-1999, agency: Pro Sports) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. The former international point guard Pedro Barral (187-1994) accounted for 18 points for the winning side. Five Obras players scored in double figures. Obras' coach Gregorio Martinez allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Naturalized American Johnatan Slider (192-1987) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Mascio McCadney (190, college: MSU-Northern) added 15 points respectively for Argentino in the defeat. Obras maintains third place with 18-6 record having just two points less than leader Instituto. Argentino at the other side keeps the sixteenth position with 19 games lost.
