Regular Season Round 12: Espanol T. - Valdivia 81-69

We should mention about the upset which took place in Talca, where higher ranked Valdivia (5-6) lost to eleventh ranked Espanol T. (4-5) in a road game 69-81 on Sunday. Espanol T. outrebounded Valdivia 44-33 including 30 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American forward Davon Haynes (203-1991, college: UAPB) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds. Canadian forward Kaleb Vaughn (198, college: Lake Erie) chipped in 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Espanol T. players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Fabian Martinez (194-2000) who recorded 20 points and 6 rebounds and Argentinian Juan Manuel Rivero (191-1985) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Espanol T. moved-up to tenth place. Valdivia lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. Espanol T. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Valdivia will play at home against the league's leader Los Leones (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
