Regular Season Round 35: Pilar - Racing 68-71

Fourteenth-ranked Pilar (9-16) made lots of trouble for first ranked Racing (21-4) on Wednesday. The visitors from Chivilcoy managed to secure only three-point victory 71-68. However their fans expected much easier game. The best player for the winners was power forward Jose Peralta (202-1995) who scored 22 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Emilio Stucky (198-1994) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. American center Dishon Lowery (200-1998, college: OKBU) produced 16 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and Franco Smaniotti (194-2000) added 15 points respectively for the hosts. Four Pilar players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Racing have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 21-4 record. Newly promoted Pilar keeps the fourteenth position with 16 games lost. Racing will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Pilar will play at home against Pergamino (#7) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
