Regular Season Round 32: San Martin - Riachuelo LR 88-64
Date: March 1, 2023
Rather expected game when 14th ranked Riachuelo LR (11-16) was smashed by eleventh ranked San Martin (13-11) in Corrientes 88-64 on Wednesday. San Martin made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. San Martin outrebounded Riachuelo LR 43-22 including a 33-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by swingman Emiliano Basabe (195-1992) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 10 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international Matias Solanas (192-1998) supported him with 23 points (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Four San Martin players scored in double figures. Even 13 points and 5 rebounds by American Justin Jackson (203-1990, college: Cincinnati) did not help to save the game for Riachuelo LR. His fellow American import guard Latraius Mosley (198-1990, college: Life) added 6 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory San Martin went down to twelfth position due to points difference. Riachuelo LR lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth place with 16 games lost. San Martin will meet Union SF (#19) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Riachuelo LR will play against La Union (#13) in Formosa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
