Rather predictable result in Formosa where ninth ranked Quimsa (16-12) defeated 11th ranked La Union (13-15) 94-76 on Monday. Quimsa dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to La Union's 32 and made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded La Union 40-17 including a 15-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Facundo Campos (-2005) who scored 17 points and 9 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Ecuadorian forward Joseph Caicedo (196-2004) chipped in 20 points. Five Quimsa players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Matias Pikaluk (185-2006) who recorded 34 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and Franco Gimenez added 18 points and 4 assists respectively. The victory was the third consecutive win for Quimsa. They maintain ninth place with 16-12 record. Loser La Union dropped to the twelfth position with 15 games lost. Quimsa will meet higher ranked Regatas (#8) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. La Union will have a break next round.
