Very predictable result when sixth ranked Quimsa (18-9) rolled over 13th ranked La Union (13-16) in Formosa 102-76 on Tuesday. Quimsa shot 64.4 percent from the field and made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for the former international forward Fabian Ramirez (200-1990) who led the winners and scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international point guard Franco Baralle (185-1999) accounted for 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Four Quimsa players scored in double figures. American guard Thomas Cooper (196-1992, college: Calgary) came up with 22 points and the former international center Ivan Basualdo (203-1990) added 12 points respectively for La Union in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Quimsa moved-up to fifth place. Loser La Union keeps the thirteenth position with 16 games lost. Quimsa will meet San Martin (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. La Union will have a break next round.
