Everything went according to plan when eighth ranked Valdivia (8-7) beat on the road bottom-ranked Temuco (1-14) 74-65 on Sunday. Valdivia forced 22 Temuco turnovers. Argentinian point guard Nicolas Ferreyra (181-1985) fired 24 points and 5 steals for the winners. The former international Jose Del Solar (195-1990) chipped in 7 points and 14 rebounds. American forward Jeremy Ireland (200-1996, college: Elmhurst) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds and Brazilian power forward Diego Dias Silva (207-1990) added 17 points and 17 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Valdivia have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place. Temuco lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost. Valdivia will meet at home Puerto Varas (#9) in the next round. Temuco will play against Puerto Montt (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
