Regular Season Round 6: Santiagueno - Fantasmas 96-95

Important game to mention about took place in Usultan. Fifth ranked Santiagueno (2-3) saved a 1-point victory at home edging their close opponent Fantasmas (2-4) 96-95 on Thursday evening. Santiagueno players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was a good game for American-Colombian center Freddy Asprilla (206-1988, college: Canisius) who saved his team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 17 rebounds and 6 assists. American Jeremy Wert (196-1996, college: S.Wesleyan) contributed with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Wert is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American guard Caleb Bowser (193, college: Georgian Court) replied with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Carlos Sorto (185-1997) added 17 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Fantasmas. Five Santiagueno and four Fantasmas players scored in double figures. Despite that victory Santiagueno went down to sixth position due to points difference, which they share with Brujos. Fantasmas at the other side dropped to the eighth place with four games lost. Santiagueno will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Fantasmas will play at home against Cojute (#4) and hope to get back on the winning track.
