There was an upset when higher ranked Obras (20-11) lost to fifteenth ranked Riachuelo LR (15-17) in Buenos Aires 80-90 on Friday. Riachuelo LR outrebounded Obras 41-26 including a 32-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Diamon Simpson (204-1987, college: St.Mary's, CA) notched 15 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and the other American import Justin Jackson (203-1990, college: Cincinnati) supported him with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Even 14 points and 7 assists by the former international point guard Pedro Barral (187-1994) did not help to save the game for Obras. Uruguayan forward Emiliano Serres (205-1997, agency: Pro Sports) added 13 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Riachuelo LR moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with La Union. Obras lost fourth consecutive game.
