This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 3rd placed Dragons (3-4) to first ranked Santiago (6-2) 78-76 on Saturday evening. 24 personal fouls committed by Dragons helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Ashley Hagans (170) who helped to win the game recording 31 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Maria Coronado (173-1991) contributed with 22 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals for the winners. American point guard Kristina Puthoff-King (180-1992, college: Richmond) answered with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and the other American import point guard Taylor Brown (170-1993, college: GMU) added 25 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Dragons. Dragons' coach Guillermo Reyes tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Santiago maintains first place with 6-2 record. Dragons at the other side keep the third position with four games lost. Santiago are looking forward to face league's second-placed Leona in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
