We should mention about the upset which took place in Santiago del Estero, where higher ranked Quimsa (17-14) was outleveled at home by sixteenth ranked Comunicaciones (12-19) 88-66. Comunicaciones made 18-of-19 charity shots (94.7 percent) during the game. Guard Francisco Llanos (182-2001) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Guard Facundo Rivero (180-2004) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winners. Five Comunicaciones players scored in double figures. Ecuadorian forward Joseph Caicedo (196-2004) replied with 20 points and 7 rebounds and center Raymon Bastardo (202-2002) added 17 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) in the effort for Quimsa. Quimsa's coach Marcelo Zanni gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Comunicaciones have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain sixteenth position with 12-19 record. Quimsa at the other side keeps the ninth place with 14 games lost. Comunicaciones will play against Olimpico (#19) in La Banda in the next round. Quimsa will play at home against Independ.O. (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
