Regular Season Round 3: Fajardo - Carolina 87-78

First defeat of league's leader Gigantes (2-1) against Cariduros (2-1) 87-78 was the most important game of the last round. Cariduros outrebounded Gigantes 45-32 including 32 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for Victor Rudd (206-1991, college: S.Florida) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists. Center Elijah Holman (208-1989, college: Detroit) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 19 rebounds for the winners. Five Cariduros players scored in double figures. Guard Sheldon Mac (196-1992, college: Miami, FL, agency: Slash Sports) answered with 20 points and 4 assists and Earl Clark (208-1988, college: Louisville) added 11 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Gigantes. Gigantes' coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Gigantes will play next round against strong Vaqueros trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Cariduros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
