Very predictable result when fourth ranked Independ.O. (21-11) won against 9th ranked Quimsa (17-16) in Santiago del Estero 80-65. Panamanian Amilcar Sanchez (184-2001) stepped up and scored 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and guard Nicolas Marcucci (190-2002) chipped in 17 points. Five Independ.O. players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was center Raymon Bastardo (202-2002) with 13 points and 6 rebounds and Facundo Campos (-2005) scored 14 points. Quimsa's coach Marcelo Zanni rotated twelve players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Independ.O. maintains fourth place with 21-11 record. Quimsa lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 16 games lost. They share it with Ferro. Independ.O. will play against Olimpico (#19) in La Banda in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Quimsa will play on the road against Gimnasia CR (#3) in Comodoro Rivadavia and hopes to get back on the winning track.
