Top ranked Santiago (7-3) recorded its third loss at the home court on Thursday night. Hosts were defeated by fourth ranked Panteras (3-6) 69-60. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Santiago. The best player for the winners was forward Anayelis Garcia (180-2002) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Laurybel Geraldino chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. Four Panteras players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American Marquisha Harris (180-1993, college: W.Michigan) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 18 rebounds and the other American import forward Tyasia Willis (178-1997, college: Bethel, TN) added 17 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Panteras maintains fourth place with 3-6 record. Santiago at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. Panteras are looking forward to face higher ranked Leona (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Santiago will play against the league's second-placed Dragons and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
