The game in Izalco supposed to be also quite interesting. Leader Santa Tecla (8-0) played at the court of 7th ranked Brujos (2-5). Santa Tecla smashed Brujos 98-69 on Saturday. Santa Tecla looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Brujos' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Santa Tecla made 15 blocks. The best player for the winners was Cuban forward Yoel Cubillas (204-1994) who had a triple-double by scoring 14 points, 21 rebounds and 12 blocks. Dominican Darwin Cabrera chipped in a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds. Four Santa Tecla players scored in double figures. Dominican Edwin Espinal (198-1993) produced 24 points and 7 rebounds and Dominican forward Juan De Los Santos (193-2002) added 17 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Brujos' coach Francisco Lemus gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Santa Tecla. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with San Salvador. Brujos lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the eighth place with five games lost. They share the position with Santiagueno. Santa Tecla will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Brujos will play against Cojute (#4) in Cojutepeque and hope to secure a win.
