Regular Season Round 10: Leona - Panteras 84-76

An interesting game for Leona (4-5) which hosted in one of their biggest challengers Panteras (3-7). Third ranked Leona managed to get a 8-point victory 84-76. Leona outrebounded Panteras 37-26 including 16 on the offensive glass. Odalmis Diaz scored 29 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American swingman Allie Taylor (180-1994, college: Plattsburgh St.) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Worth to mention Taylor played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Leona's coach Brandon Hill allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side guard Samantha Calderon responded with 25 points and American point guard Amber Keith (170-1995, college: Weatherford JC) scored 16 points. Four Panteras players scored in double figures. Leona maintains third position with 4-5 record having five points less than leader Santiago. Panteras at the other side stay at the bottom place with seven games lost. Leona will play against league's leader Santiago in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Panteras will play against the league's second-placed Dragons and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
