Regular Season Round 41: Penarol - Regatas 63-58

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 9th ranked Regatas (18-15) lost to tenth ranked Penarol (18-15) in Mar del Plata 58-63 on Sunday. Strangely Regatas outrebounded Penarol 46-33 including 34 on the defensive glass. Jamaican center Jerome Jordan (215-1986, college: Tulsa, agency: Octagon Europe) nailed 12 points for the winning side and American forward Al Thornton (203-1983, college: FSU, agency: BIG) accounted for 12 points. Forward Alejandro Diez (201-1987) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds and American guard Charles Hinkle (198-1988, college: American) added 15 points respectively for Regatas in the defeat. Regatas' coach Fernando Rivero let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Penarol moved-up to ninth place, which they share with defeated Regatas. Penarol will meet at home higher ranked Gimnasia (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Regatas will play against Argentino (#16) in Junin and hope to secure a win.
