Regular Season Round 7: Cocodrilos - Gladiadores 69-77

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Cocodrilos (6-1) in Caracas. Hosts were defeated by Gladiadores (6-1) 77-69. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Cocodrilos. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Gladiadores made 22-of-28 charity shots (78.6 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Cocodrilos turnovers. Cocodrilos were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American Jordan Adams (196-1994, college: UCLA) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). International point guard Gregory Vargas (181-1986, agency: Pro Sports) contributed with 14 points and 6 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) for the winners. Dominican Luis Montero (203-1993, college: South Plains) answered with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Jovanni Diaz (203-1990) added 13 points and 11 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) in the effort for Cocodrilos. Cocodrilos' coach Gonzalo Garcia rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Gladiadores have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with defeated Cocodrilos. Gladiadores will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Cocodrilos' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Caracas to the arena Spartans.
