The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Atleticos (4-1) in Juana Diaz on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by fifth ranked Leones (2-3) 107-89. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Atleticos. Leones shot 24 for 37 from the free-throw line, while Atleticos only scored five points from the stripe. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. 30 personal fouls committed by Atleticos helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international guard Jezreel De Jesus (185-1991, agency: Interperformances) scored 22 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Cameron Oliver (203-1996, college: Nevada) chipped in 18 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five Leones players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American point guard Norris Cole (188-1988, college: CSU) with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists and international point guard Tjader Fernandez (178-1994) scored 21 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Leones moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Fajardo. Atleticos at the other side keep the second position with one game lost. Leones is looking forward to face Osos (#6) in Manati in the next round. Atleticos will have a break next round.
