No shocking result in a game in Arecibo where third ranked Capitanes (5-2) defeated 6th ranked Osos (2-6) 103-92 on Thursday. Capitanes made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Paris Bass (207-1995, college: Detroit) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and international Devon Collier (203-1991, college: Oregon St.) who added 19 points and 4 assists during the contest. Capitanes' coach Tony Ruiz used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Davon Jefferson (203-1986, college: USC) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import guard Elfrid Payton (191-1994, college: Louisiana) scored 17 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Capitanes have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 5-2 record having just three points less than leader Quebradillas. Loser Osos dropped to the fifth place with six games lost. They share the position with Humacao. Capitanes will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Osos will play against the league's leader Piratas (#1) in Quebradillas and hope to secure a win.
