Regular Season Round 20: Catolica - Puerto Montt 78-81

Everything could happen in Santiago at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Puerto Montt and 12th ranked Catolica had identical 6-14 record. But Catolica was not able to use a home court advantage and was edged by the opponent from Puerto Montt 81-78 on Saturday night. Worth to mention a great performance of Argentinian forward Martin Chervo (200-1992) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds and American forward Josh Morris (203-1993, college: UTPB) who added 8 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. American point guard Manny Payton (183-1997, college: FSU) responded with 39 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 6 assists and point guard Pablo Allegrini (-2000) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Puerto Montt have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain eleventh position with 7-14 record. Catolica lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with 15 games lost. Puerto Montt will meet league's second-placed Los Leones in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Catolica will play against Puerto Varas (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
