Important game to mention about took place in Quebradillas. First ranked Piratas (8-2) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 3rd ranked Capitanes (5-3) 88-86 on Monday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Capitanes. Piratas made 16-of-18 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Hassan Whiteside (213-1989, college: Marshall) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points, 17 rebounds and 6 blocks. The other American import guard Brandon Knight (190-1991, college: Kentucky) contributed with 23 points and 5 assists for the winners. American power forward Paris Bass (207-1995, college: Detroit) replied with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 12 rebounds and naturalized U.S. Virgin Islands point guard Walter Hodge (183-1986, college: Florida) added 14 points in the effort for Capitanes. Piratas maintains first position with 8-2 record. Capitanes at the other side keep the third place with three games lost. Piratas will play against league's leader Vaqueros in Bayamon in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Capitanes will play on the road against Cariduros in Fajardo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
