Important game to mention about took place in Fajardo. Third ranked Cariduros (5-5) saved a 1-point victory at home edging their close opponent Capitanes (5-4) 95-94 in the game for the third place. Cariduros made 17-of-22 charity shots (77.3 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Cariduros especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. It was a great evening for the former international forward Emmanuel Andujar (197-1993, college: Manhattan) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. American center Elijah Holman (208-1989, college: Detroit) helped adding 12 points and 13 rebounds. Naturalized U.S. Virgin Islands point guard Walter Hodge (183-1986, college: Florida) responded with 23 points and 5 assists and American power forward Paris Bass (207-1995, college: Detroit) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Capitanes' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Cariduros have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 5-5 record having just three points less than leader Quebradillas. Capitanes at the other side dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Ponce. Cariduros will play against Cangrejeros (#4) in Santurce in the next round. Capitanes will have a break next round.
