Regular Season Round 11: San German - Mayaguez 55-74

Date: April 13, 2023
There was a small surprise when fifth ranked Indios (6-5) rolled over second-ranked Atleticos (6-3) in San German 74-55 on Thursday. Indios looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Kaleb Wesson (208-1999, college: Ohio St.) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists. International forward Jordan Cintron (203-1998, college: Niagara) accounted for 15 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side. Four Indios players scored in double figures. Panamanian forward Tony Bishop (202-1989, college: Texas St., agency: 011 Sports) came up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and the former international center Jorge Bryan Diaz (210-1989, college: Nebraska) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Atleticos in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Indios moved-up to third place. Loser Atleticos keep the second position with three games lost. Indios will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Atleticos will play against the league's second-placed Gigantes in Carolina and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
