The game between closely ranked teams ended with fourth ranked Capitanes' (6-4) home victory over 5th ranked Leones (5-6) 99-80. They outrebounded Leones 53-32 including a 21-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Capitanes players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Leones were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American power forward Paris Bass (207-1995, college: Detroit) nailed a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds for the winning side and international swingman Jonathan Rodriguez (196-1987, college: Campbell) accounted for 19 points and 12 rebounds. Five Capitanes players scored in double figures. The former international guard Jezreel De Jesus (185-1991, agency: Interperformances) came up with 18 points and forward Christian Negron (201-1998, college: GVSU) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Leones in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Capitanes moved-up to third place. Leones at the other side keep the fifth position with six games lost. Capitanes will play against league's second-placed Atleticos in San German in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Leones will play at home against Cariduros and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
