Regular Season Round 14: Arecibo - San German 94-75

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when second-ranked Atleticos (7-4) were smashed by third ranked Capitanes (7-4) in Arecibo 94-75 on Wednesday. Capitanes dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Atleticos' 38. They outrebounded Atleticos 50-31 including a 37-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. American power forward Paris Bass (207-1995, college: Detroit) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and Dominican Victor Liz (190-1986) supported him with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Four Capitanes players scored in double figures. Even 20 points, 7 assists and 4 steals by international point guard Tjader Fernandez (178-1994) did not help to save the game for Atleticos. Panamanian forward Tony Bishop (202-1989, college: Texas St., agency: 011 Sports) added 15 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Capitanes moved-up to second place, which they share with San German. Capitanes will again meet Atleticos (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Atleticos will have a break next round.
