An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Bayamon. First ranked Vaqueros faced second-ranked Cariduros. Host Vaqueros (10-4) defeated guests from Fajardo (8-8) 93-84. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Cariduros. Vaqueros looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American-North Macedonian center Jacob Wiley (203-1994, college: EWU) stepped up and scored 28 points and 5 rebounds (on 14-of-17 shooting from the field) for the winners and American forward Braxton Key (203-1997, college: Virginia) chipped in 23 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Five Vaqueros players scored in double figures. American swingman Dimencio Vaughn (196-1997, college: Rider) responded with 22 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import forward Robert Baker (208-1998, college: Harvard) scored 25 points and 5 rebounds. Defending champion maintains first place with 10-4 record. Loser Cariduros keep the second position with eight games lost. Vaqueros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Cariduros will play against Cangrejeros in Santurce and hope to secure a win.
